Ethel attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and graduated from East Forsyth High School in 1975. Ethel worked as the Hotel Manager for Dudley Cosmetology University and as a teacher for Kimberly Park Elementary School. Ethel loved teaching but decided to end her teaching career to care for her ailing father and mother. For the next 15 plus years, she gave herself unconditionally and selflessly. She said "Love will ask you to step out of your comfort zone, the greatest sacrifice is when you sacrifice your own happiness for the sake of others. When the lord calls me home I can't take nothing with me that I received on earth, only what I was given: which is a full heart engraved with my honest service, love and courage, God's gone take care of me and he knows my heart." Ethel's selfless sacrifice's for others is the role that brought joy, happiness, fulfillment and balance to her life. Ethel leaves a legacy of compassion, hope, and perseverance. Her infectious laugh, genuine smile, hugs, and caring spirit will forever be etched in our hearts. She knew her assignment and constructed a foundation that created a family of faith, love and joy.
