Ms. Eugenia Edwards, affectionately known to family and friends as "Boo Girl", completed her earthly journey and entered eternal peace on February 23, 2025. She was born to the late Eugene Edwards and Henrietta Smith on May 11, 1960, in Darlington, SC.
Ms. Eugenia Edwards was raised in Winston Salem, NC. In June of 1978, she graduated from R.J. Reynolds High School and enlisted in the Army soon after. During this time, she served as a Post Office clerk in Bad Kissingen, Germany. After her honorable discharge, she returned home to Winston Salem and worked as a Post Office clerk in the downtown area. Throughout her life, Ms. Eugenia Edwards worked various jobs, always bringing kindness and a strong work ethic to everything she did. She was a woman of deep faith, who found strength in her beliefs, and had an unwavering trust in God.
Ms. Eugenia Edwards was preceded in death by her brother Douglas Edwards, her sister Terri Hill, and her aunt Geraldine Jones.
Ms. Eugenia Edwards leaves behind a loving family including her three sons: Derek (Kenyetta) Edwards, Jeffrey (Ashley) Edwards, and Devin (Amber Jarvis) Edwards; eleven grandchildren: Krishayla Rolle, Derek Edwards, Keyaira Edwards, Ja'Avery Edwards, Mariah Edwards, Malachi Edwards, Marcus Edwards, Maliyah Edwards, Sayvion Haynes, Akeviyahn Haynes, and Ke'Tayrion Haynes; one sister: Maggie McMoore; two brothers: Noel Gandy and David Edwards; an aunt: Betty Warren, and many special nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Ms. Eugenia Edwards will be remembered the most by her love for music, her larger-than-life personality, her sense of humor, and her delicious cooking made with love. Her greatest joy was her family, and she will always be cherished by her loved .A public viewing will be held Wednesday February 26, 2025 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be Thursday February 27, 2025 at 11:30 am from Douthit's. The family receive friends at 11:00 am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
