She graduated from Paisley High School in 1966 and from Winston Salem Teacher's College (now known as WSSU) in 1969. She married the love of her life, Artemas Dixon in 1966 and their love spanned over 5 decades until his death in 2021. Geneva retired from Family Services Head Start after 29 years of service to Pre-K students at St. Phillips Childcare, Skyland School and Church Childcare of Walkertown. She was honored to be named the Head Start Teacher of the Year before her retirement.
She was a member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church for over 50 years where she served faithfully in the Drama Ministry, Sunday School, and the Seasoned Saints Ministry.
Mrs. Dixon gained her wings peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 31st after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Artemas Dixon and three brothers, John Pearson, Edward Pearson and Ronald Pearson. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons Rev. Jarrod (Dr. Cynthia) Dixon and Keir (Sherry) Dixon.
