Gwendolyn Delores Thompson Conrad was fondly called "Lois" or "Jazzy" by family and friends. She was born to Evelyn Thompson and Charlie Frost October 25, 1952, and the Angels called her home on December 31, 2024.Gwendolyn spent most of her early years in New York and she returned to NC at the age of 18, where she met William (Bennie) Conrad, and they were married. Cooking and Food has always been her "Gift", where she spent numerous years cooking at various businesses including – NC School of the Arts, Pellcare Nursing Home and Guilford College where she took early retirement when her health declined. "Lois" was preceded in death by her husband William "Bennie" Conrad; Her Father/Charlie Frost (Lois) and her dad/ Frank Pearson (Dorothy) and her mother/ Evelyn Thompson Siblings – Sandra Conrad; Michael Calvin Thompson; Roslyn Pearson; Keith Pearson; Reginald Pearson She leaves to cherish her memory, her children – Jeffrey Pearson; Tonya Pearson Moore (Willis)--Special Son-in-law; Benita Conrad; Stepchildren – Erica Conrad; DeWayne Broadway. Her grandchildren –Kevin Pearson; Kelli (Terrell)Woodbury; Theodore Witherspoon Jr.; Jordan (Destiny)Forcier; Chad Evans; Trent Evans; Tekira Conrad; Erin Moore; Jai Perkins; Kameron Palmer; Christian Moore Great-Grandkids– Marquis; Kali; Kobi; Amari; Hudson; Caleb; Armani; Alivia; Essence; Mystery. Siblings – Tyrone Thompson; Michelle Thompson; Johnniemae Thompson; Toney Thompson; Brenda Robinson; Waltina (Turner) Houston; Cynthia Robinson; Crystal Pearson. And a Host of Nieces, Nephews other Family and Friend. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 16, 2025, 11:30 am from New Hope Baptist church and interment will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
