In accordance with the divine will of our God, Mr. Haven Gregory Simmons was placed on Earthly grounds March 18, 1952 and now called to higher heavenly grounds September 8, 2021. Haven was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC were he attended Forsyth County School and later March 26. 1976 stated his life career serving the United States Marine Crops with honorable and further his life work journey with serving multiple jobs starting working for housing Authority as a maintain worker later moved on to Douglas Battery and ended his job career with the city of Winston-Salem Sanitation Department where he retired in 2017. 2018 is when his health started to decline. Haven was a dedicated member of Beulah Baptist Church for many years. He also was a devoted member of the Inspirational choir and men's choir , his favorite song to sing was Fix it Jesus by the Canton Spiritual. Later on his Journey he affiliated with Life Changing Transformation Church Ministries. Haven was preceded in death by both Father and Mother Grady Simmons, Sr. and Otelid Simmons. Wife Lolo Mae Simmons, brothers: Tommie Lee Simmons and Grady Simmons. Nephew Kurtis Le'Grant Mobley. Haven was a wonderful father and a great friend too other. Mr. Simmons leaves to cherish his memories, Two children a loving and devoted daughter Latonya R. Simmons-Webb (Ashley Spease) a loving and devoted son Kevin G. Simmons. Two loving sister Malvernia (Darrly) Rolle and Vanessa Mobley both of Winston-Salem. A loving brother Milford(Karen) Simmons of Virginia Beach. Two loving and devoted grandkids, Joshua J Simmons and Zy'Reyonna J Spease. A host of niece and nephew and cousins. A public viewing will be conducted Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral service will be conducted Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 1:30pm from Douthit Funeral Services. Family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 1:30pm and interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 9:00am Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
