Helen C. Woods was born June 24th, 1937, to the late Rev. Arthur W. Carson and Fannie Jane Carson, both deceased
Helen was married to the late Rober Woods for 35 years. No children were born to this union, but they raised and loved many.
She was a member of the Travel Booster Club that followed WSSU athletics. At one time she served as president and treasurer.
Helen was educated at the public schools of Winston-Salem and attended Kimberly Park Holiness Church.
She had several workstations beginning at A Star Laundry and ending at Baskins Sack.
Helen leaves to morn her memory sisters, Virginia Hampton of Walkertown, NC, Fannie Mae Cato of Winston-Salem, NC and Bernice Poston of Fayetteville GA, one brother Charles (Sandra) Carson of Winston-Salem, a host of nieces and nephews. Special nieces, Sylvia Harvey, Renita Harvey, and Latrice Hines, a host of cousins and friends, and very special friends Jim Barbee, Kim Smith, and Hattie Smith.
A public viewing will be held Thursday October 13, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Friday October 14, 2022, at 11:00am from Kimberly Park Holiness Church and interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at10:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
