Obituary

Mr. James A. Cameron is affectionately known as (Uncle, Snail, Titus) born on September 29, 1938, to Willie Cameron and Louise Clayton Cameron in Roxboro, NC. He was educated in the Person County School System and graduated from Person County High School (PCHS) in 1958. He briefly pursued higher education at N.C A&T State University, in Electrical Engineering while playing Line-Backer on the football team. James left school in the summer of 1960 and worked a summer job at Hope Valley Country Club as a short-order cook and bartender. There he met a friend named Perry Mack, who would eventually introduce him to the Love of his life, Peggy Ingram. Peggy was an educator working in the Durham area at that time. They started dating and married in June of 1963. They came to Winston-Salem to start their life together for 59 years. James served as a devout member of the Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church for 60+ years of service. He served on the Sr. Usher Board, the Treasurer of the Ministry of Kindness, and The Male Chorus. James retired from Budd Services, maintaining The Little Theater property for 22years.



James was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Peggy I. Cameron, parents Willie and Louise Cameron, Anna Ingram (Mother in love), Edith Minor (Cousin), and Flip (Devoted pet of 15years).

James leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted niece and caregiver Michelle Wright, Sister's in Love Linda Wright (James) and Harriet Rodriguez, Aunt's Annie Cameron and Gladys Johnson, niece Monique, nephews James N Wright III (Yolanda), Dr. Errol Rodriguez, and two great-nieces, Kristin and Emily (Texas), 3 great-nephews, James IV, John-Michael, and Dion, Cousin's Gloria Minor, Marcus (Blukie) Minor, and Greg Minor, and host of other cousins and friends. Acknowledgments Michelle Wright and the Family would like to personally that several people and services for their love support and dedication to the betterment of James (Uncle) Cameron.

The family will receive friends at 12:30 at Douthit's Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
