James Edward White aka "Pistol" was born on April 14th, 1941, in Winston-Salem, NC to James and Margaret Cathcart. He was the oldest of 7 children.
James attended Dunbar High School in Davidson County. He was a retired employee of Reynolds America where he was employed for 35 years. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross and a former Forsyth County Big Brother. On the morning of February 8th, he transitioned to his heavenly home.
He is survived by his wife Joanne White, 3 daughters: Princess Smith, Valecia White Lamont, and Palmer White. Sons: James White Jr., Cliff (Syteria) Bruton, Reginald Werts, and Christopher, Samuel, and Marctavious Gray. Two sisters: Deborah Cathcart Burnett and Linda Wallace, Buffalo, NY. 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grands. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grand nieces, and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Margaret Cathcart; his sisters- Senator Earline White Parmon, Gwendolyn Neal; brothers- Danny Ross Cathcart and Calvin Cathcart.
As the patriarch of the White family, he will truly be Missed. A public viewing will be held Monday February 14, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday February 15, 2022, at 11:00 am from Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
