Mr. James Nathaniel Young. …….. (2 Timothy 4:6) The time of his departure was at hand on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. He had experienced a lengthy illness and went home to be with Lord (2 Cor. 5:8) He was born to the late Mary Elizabeth Boulder Young and the late John Henry Young on January 22, 1952. He attended Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and graduated from Carver High School. Later he attended WSSU. He went on to be a dedicated husband and proud father. He worked at Hanes Dye & Finishing Company, Forsyth County Court House and other menial jobs until his health declined. He had a contagious smile and was always happy to share it. During the NFL season, you could find James in front of the TV on Sunday afternoon and evenings.
Mr. Young leaves to cherish his memories four children (Sonia, Dedrick (Tarmira), Kiana and Patrice). He has 11 grandchildren and a legacy of great-grandchildren.
Mr. Young is preceded in death by his mother & father, two sisters Arschevia Barr and Susie Scott. His remaining siblings mourning his loss are Johnnie Mae Williams, Mary Magdalene Smith (Aaron), Hattie Fortune (Baltimore, MD) and Flora Shabazz and a host of other relatives and friends. A public viewing will be held Tuesday August 1, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Wednesday August 2, 2023, at 11:00am from Douthit's and interment will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at 10:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
