Jesse D. Jones, Sr. departed this life on February 19th, 2022, at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was born April 10,1935 in Kernersville, NC to the late Harley Jones and Laura Carter Jones.

Jesse retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 20 years of dedicated service.

Jesse was proceeded in death by his parents; all his siblings and one daughter Robin Hairston.

He leaves to cherish his memories; His beloved wife of 67 years, Mary Hairston Jones of the home; Three daughters, Cynthia (Perry) Worthy of Walkertown, NC; Brenda (Brian) Hairston of Kernersville, NC and Kenya Jones of Atlanta, GA; Three sons, Dennis (Shirley) Jones of Walnut Cove, NC; Gordon Jones, Sr. of Winston-Salem, NC and Rev. Dr. Jesse D. Jones, Jr. of Walkertown, NC; Twenty-Two Grandchildren, Forty-One Great-Grandchildren and Four Great-Great Grandchildren; One sister-in-law, Shirley (Wheeler) Jones of Walkertown, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A public viewing will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Douthit's.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Goler Memorial AME Zion Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC.
