John Neal Wilson Jr., was a beloved son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He departed from this world on June 30, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, and countless cherished memories.
Born on August 2, 1958, John was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him. He possessed an unwavering love for his family, and his presence was a source of strength and inspiration to them. His fun-loving spirit made him a joy to be around, and he had an incredible ability to make everyone laugh and feel happy in the spaces he was in.
John was educated in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. He was a current employee for the City of Winston-Salem. His hard work earned him the respect of his co-workers.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Neal Wilson, Sr., mother, Katherine Wilson, sister, Arnetta Covington, nephews Tira Wilson, Jermaine Haizlip and Jalen Covington, grandmother Thelma Stewart.
John's love and devotion for his family truly defined him. He was deeply loved by his siblings Randolph Wilson, Arelica Darlene Wilson, Debra (Daphne) Mitchell, Rickey (Leah) Wilson, and Kenneth (Wilhelmina) Wilson. Together, they navigated life's joys and challenges, creating a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
John's greatest pride and joy were his children Lamont Atwater, Rathel (Lisa) Carter, Andria Frazier, Darrius Harrison, and Lemar (Jamayla) Wilson.
A public viewing will be held Monday July 10, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 11, 2023, at 12pm from Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 11:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
