Joy Gregory McLean aka "COOKIE" was born on January 8, 1961, to the late Edith Jackson and Johnny Pearl Gregory in the city of Winston-Salem, NC. and departed this life after a brief illness on December 2, 2022, at the age of 61.
Joy attended the WSFCS where she graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1979. She also attended Rutledge College. She worked at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Health as a Unit Secretary until her health declined.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother William Jackson.
She is survived by three daughters, Monica Driver, Sheri Mclean, and Alisha McLean all of Winston-Salem, NC. She has six grandchildren, Niya Driver, Devin Driver, Nia White, Ari White, Eli Smith, and Eason McLean. One Great Granddaughter, Azalea Rogers. Three brothers, Joseph Malet, Reginald Jackson Sr, and Yancey Gregory all of Winston-Salem, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins from Baltimore, MD, and friends.
And special friends Mr. Jerry McLean, Sharon Caldwell, and the girls God Mom Pastor Arlisa Reaves Greene. A memorial service will be held Saturday December 17, 2022, at 11:00am from Douthit's. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
