Kenneth "Jamiel" Samuels, 46, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on October 30, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family when he was peacefully called home.

Born on January 18, 1979, to Tanya Samuels and Kenneth Eaton, Jamiel was a beloved father, son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He touched countless lives with his larger-than-life personality, sharp wit, and generous spirit. He had an extraordinary ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Jamiel attended Mount Tabor High School and built a life filled with passion, family, and community. He loved watching gangster movies, football Sundays cheering for his beloved Green Bay Packers, working out, and traveling to new places. Above all, he found purpose in pouring into those around him that he loved.

In his younger years, Jamiel was celebrated for his great skills as a running back in Pop Warner Football, earning respect for his heart and hustle on the field. Later in life, he became a dedicated Pee Wee football coach for 10 years, where his commitment to his players extended far beyond the game inspiring discipline, confidence, and teamwork in every child he mentored.

Jamiel was a beloved father who cherished every moment with his children and grandson. His love for his family was fierce and unwavering, a reflection of the loyalty and strength that defined his life.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Jamiel is survived by his mother, Tanya Samuels, grandmothers Mary Samuels and Shirley Eaton, father Kenneth Eaton, brother Jason Samuels, sister Dr. Kendra Samuels Eaton, children Shammohd Ballah and Twakenah Daniels, grandson Shammohd Ballah, niece Shania Samuels, uncles Byron Samuels (Beverlyn) and Kenneth Samuels, aunt Christy Hayden, and a host of cousins, siblings, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 7, 2025 at 11:00am from the Ronnie Douthit Chapel. The family will receive friends at 10:30am from the chapel. There will be a public viewing on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 1pm until 5pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
