Our dearly beloved Larry Bernard Carson affectionately known as "Larry C." peacefully transitioned on Thursday, June 30, 2022, to be with his Lord and Savior after an extensive illness. Larry was born December 5, 1950, in Winston-Salem, NC to Tommie Layman and Lillie Mae Carson.

Larry attended Carver High School, Class of 1970 where he played football and baseball. He retired from Taylor Brothers Tobacco Company but continued to work various jobs until his health declined. Larry was a member of Saint Mark Baptist Church and became a Deacon under the Leadership of Rev. James Fulwood. He was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49er's Football Team.

Larry was preceded in death by his loving parents. He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Lavern Young, daughter(s) Kimberly Shante Brown and Michelle Young, his siblings Jean C. Brown, Calvin (Arzella) Carson, Everette (Angela) Carson of Ellenwood, Ga and Debra C. Edwards, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grands, 2 God-children Nedra and Sonny Weaks, favorite niece Tangela "Puddin" Carson and host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. A devoted friend Ulysses Huffin. A memorial service will be held Friday July 8, 2022, at 12pm from St. Mark Baptist Church. There will no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
