Mr. Larry Smith was born December 6, 1947, in Benson, NC to the late Fred (June) and Lizzie Smith. He departed this life April 4, 2023, at his home 1643 Longview Drive in Winston-Salem, NC. Larry retired from the city of Winston-Salem and later became an entrepreneur with his own lawn services. He was a neighborhood activist and communities' leader, from feeding homeless during holidays and year-round. He loved his family and everyone around him. He was the oldest member of Cycle Kings Motorcycle club. He was proceeded in death by his sisters, Helen Smith, Eula Mae James, Vera Smith. And his brother Willie J. Smith and Malcolm Smith. He is survived by three sons Larry Walker, Larry L. Smith, Edward A. Walker all of the city. Three daughters Janet S. Smith-Bickems (James) , Titisha L. Smith and Stephine Smith of the city. Two stepsons Ronnie Spears and Adrian Spears13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Two sisters , Martha Lindsay and Mildred McNeill. One brothers Ray Crenshaw. A host of Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. " ALL I NEED IS THE GOOD LORD" IF THEY HUNGEY FEED THEM"A public viewing will be held Thursday April 13, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Friday April 14, 2023, at 1pm from Douthit. The family will receive friends at 12pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
