On Wednesday, October 7, 2020, God in His infinite wisdom called from labor to reward the gentle spirit of our beloved Minister Levi Bryant, Jr.
Minister Levi Bryant, Jr. the son of the late Mr. Levi Bryant, Sr. and Viola Daniels Bryant, Sr. was born September 25, 1957 in New Bern, N. C. Minister Levi Bryant, Jr. was a graduate of Craven County High School in New Bern, N. C. He was a graduate of New Hope Bible College in Winston-Salem, N.C. with a Master's degree in Christian Education. He was married to the love of his life and his soul mate, Minister Lucy Bryant for 40 years.
Minister Levi Bryant, Jr. was a charter member of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church. He served faithfully as a Senior Associate Minister, a member of the Ministerial Staff, Sunday School teacher, a member of the Men's Ministry, member of the Pastor's Aide, Vacation Bible School facilitator, and in many other capacities.
Minister Bryant was a true believer in God. He reached so many people through his ministering and teaching of God's Word. His lectures were never really lectures because they were always told like beautiful stories. His daily words of encouragement never went unnoticed whether at work, at home or at church. His sense of humor always put a smile on everyone's face. He always knew how to reach people. We all knew how much he loved and cherished his family. He was an avid "Red Skins" fan.
Minister Bryant's life is celebrated today and his memory is cherished by his loving wife, Minister Lucy Bryant, three children, Mary Van Eaton-Haynes (Eddie), Orlando Bryant, and Levi Bryant, III; two grandchildren, Gabrielle "Gabe" Bryant, and Orlando "OJ" Bryant, Jr;. three siblings, Reginald Mitchell, Gail Bryant-Jones (Reginald), and Zelda Bryant. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, his church family and many friends.
A private memorial services will held Monday, October 12, 2020. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
