Lillie Burris Taylor passed away peacefully at her home in Winston Salem, NC on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 at the age of 98. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Taylor; her daughter, Pamela Moses; her parents, Walker and MaggieBurris; and brothers Lawrence, Jim, Paul, Walker, Joseph, Leroy and Willie. Left to cherish her memories are her devoted grand-daughters, Tarreyca Mulinda (Lawrence) of Boiling Springs, SC and Jamese Moses of Winston Salem, NC; her Son-In-Law, James Moses of Winston Salem, NC; and her great-niece Jora Thompson of Winston Salem, NC. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces and nephews of North and South Carolina. Lillie was born in McConnells, South Carolina on July 5th, 1923. She was educated in the South Carolina School System and went on to become an employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company from which she retired in 1988. She enjoyed baking, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends. She was a long-time devoted member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. The visitation and funeral service will be held at Douthit Funeral Services located at 515 Specialty Park Dr, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 . Viewing, on Monday, August 9th from 1:00-5:00PM. Funeral service on Tuesday, August 10th at 10:00AM with Reverend Dr. John Mendez, officiating. Masks will be required for entry into the funeral home and during the service.
