Linda Diane Jones Bowman was born to the late Mrs. Willie Mae Jones Witherspoon and Mr. Allen Odell Jordan on Monday, May 16, 1949. She transitioned to her heavenly home in the evening hour on Friday, April 12, 2024, after a lengthy illness.
Linda attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. During her leisure time, she loved to work on cross word puzzles. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Charles E. Gray, and was a member of the Nurses Ministry until her heath declined.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Willie L. Bowman; son, Kendrick J. Jones; brother, Marion A. Jones; and sister, Shirley W. McCoy.
Leaving to cherish her memories are three granddaughters, LaKendra, Kymina, and Ariana; six grandsons, Malik, Kanye, Jayden, Kendrick Jr, Kyrie, and Tyree Mitchell; a great-granddaughter, Kalila Jones; a stepdaughter, LaTangela Williams; three sisters, JoAnne W. Patrick, Patricia Johnson, and Tilda Shannon; five brothers, Larry Jones, Horace "Ted" (Pamela) Jordan, James "Stan" Howie, Allen "Ray" (Rose) Jordan, and Larry Murrell; five aunts, Ernestine J. Simington, Mildred J. Price, Gwen J. Brown, Phyllis (Grady) Jackson, and Claudette (Wilbur) McIntyre; four uncles, Charlie (Gladys) Jones, James Jones, Melvin (Sharon) Jones, and Collins Charles (Bette) Jordan; four sisters-in-law, Phyllis Sutton, Deloris (Horatious) Bowen, Peggy (Dexter) Sullivan, and Mary E. Jones; three brothers-in-law, Turner (Sharon) Bowman, Otis Bowman, and Anthony (Toni) Bowman; a devoted and loved friend, Lina Brown. Along with a host of other beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A public viewing will be held Monday April 22, 2024, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral service will be held Tuesday April23, 2024 at 12pm from Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 11:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
