Obituary

Mrs. Maggie Louise Braddy Ross, known by all as "Louise," was the eldest of five children, born to Clarence and Maggie Stewart Braddy on April 5, 1930, in Old Town (Forsyth County), N.C. She peacefully transitioned from earth to glory on December 4, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mr. Robert Lee Ross, one son, Bryan Keith Ross, two brothers, Clarence Braddy and Lester Braddy, and one sister, Juanita Braddy Lowery.

Mrs. Ross attended the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and received a Clerical Diploma from Russell's Business School. She retired from R.J. Reynolds Sales/Service Department, served on the Board of Directors at Crisis Control Ministry and reentered the workforce as a receptionist at Ashley Elementary School. For many years, she was a very active and dedicated member of Union Baptist Church and was a member of the Senior Missionary Ministry.

Mrs. Ross was a very loving and dedicated mother to all of her children. She leaves to cherish very fond memories six children who loved her dearly. Three daughters, Marcella Hauser, Phyllis James (Harold), Velma Shore, and Lisa Ross, two sons, Johnny Puryear (Evelyn), and Thomas Puryear (Marietta); 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Francis Braddy Cole (Joel), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Ross enjoyed working with young people and her words encapsulate the legacy she leaves behind: "I hope when my life is over, I will be remembered as having helped some child or young person to be a better person and willing to serve God."
