Mrs. Lula Mae Lipscomb West was born on November 13, 1927 in Gaffney, South Carolina to the late Matt Lipscomb and Lula Lowery Lipscomb. Mrs. West went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2020.Mrs. West was a retiree of Forsyth Memorial Hospital, where she worked for 34 years.Mrs. West was a devoted member of Zion Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. She sang on the Senior Choir and a member of the Missionaries. She also was a member of a Secret Pal Club. She truly enjoyed the fellowship that they had together. The ladies truly loved each other and they looked out for each other. Mrs. West was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #620 for over 30 years. She was a Past Worthy Matron.Mrs. West is preceded in death by husband, Deacon Elmer Lee West, Sr.Mrs. West leaves to cherish loving memories her loving children, Mrs. Shirley AnnRichardson of Altadena, CA, Mrs. Brenda (Reverend Theodus) McFarlin of Winston-Salem, NC, Ms. Eleanor West Eaton of Winston-Salem, NC, one son, Elmer Lee West, Jr. (Deceased); 8 grandchildren, (1 deceased, Leon T. Eaton), 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and a very special and devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Alecia V. West of the home, a devoted nephew, Landis Kimbrough of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.A public viewing will be held on today from 2pm until 5pm at Douthit's.
