Mr. Mack Douglas Williams, age 79, of Frontier Dr., Kernersville, NC passed away on Monday, April 10th, 2023, at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Williams was born in Wilkes County on November 18, 1943, to the late Dewey E. and Callie M. Parsons Williams. Mr. Williams graduated from Wilkes Central High School, and later from Winston-Salem State University with a degree in Physical Education. He worked for the Winston Salem Journal and later with the Parks and Recreation Department of Winston-Salem until he retired. Mr. Williams was also preceded in death by a son: Maurice D. Williams, four brothers: Daniel, Roy, Billy, and Louis Williams; three sisters: Josephine Williams Miller, Julia Williams, and Jean Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Jennifer S. Williams; a daughter: Terasa J. Williams; three grandchildren Aliyah M. Bryant, Brandon I. Gambrell, and Tyler D. Rucker; one brother Dewey Williams Sr. (wife Myrna) of Indianapolis, IN; two sisters-in-law: Sara D. Williams of Wilkesboro and Ella Jean Parks Williams of Wilkesboro; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A public viewing will be held Friday April 14, 2023 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 15, 2023 at 12pm from Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and interment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends at 11:30 am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
