He was a native of Forsyth County, and a 1983 graduate of East Forsyth High school. He was self-employed in his trade as an automotive technician and had a passion and love for fixing cars and everything in between.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Farabee, a brother Clarence Farabee Jr; paternal grandparents, Swannie and Joseph Farabee; maternal grandparents Lillie and Robert Sheff and his beloved daughter Shantika La'Shae Dunlap.
He is survived and cherished by his loving mother Lillie Mae Farabee; stepfather Johnnie Draft Jr; four grandchildren; Jasson Dunlap; Josiah Dunlap; Marvin Blue; Marleigh Blue; one sister; Priscilla Ann Mashack; three brothers; Nathan Lee Farabee (Angela Farabee); Michael Eugene Farabee (Shameka Farabee); Joseph Phillip Farabee and Latonia Mayes grandmother of the grandchildren.
He is treasured by a devoted companion Shauntel Edmondson and her sons Latrell and Legend Edmondson; best friends Keith(PAP) Watts; Arkba-Abu Hurst; Darryl Hazel; and Earl Lowery; special friends; Teresa Willis; Charlotte Crawford and Sandra (Moms) Crews; a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.
On his journey through life Maurice was free-spirited and met no strangers; he absolutely loved his family. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed, gone but never forgotten. A public viewing will be held Friday July 21, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 22, 2023, at 11:30am from Mt. Pleasent Baptist Church and interment will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at 11:00am at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
