Merlin was born January 10, 1960 to his late parents Sandy T. Miller and Madie B. Miller. He departed his life on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Ellen Anderson, Erma Miller, Dollie Oliver and Althea Miller. He is survived by his guardian and brother, Leon B. Miller of Winston-Salem, NC.

He leaves behind to mourn his loss; brothers, Gary, Keith (Carlatta), all of Winston-Salem, NC, Sam of GA and Ivan of UT; sister, Cheryl (David) Watson of Hobbsville of NC; two aunts Clara Barringer and Peggy Ollie, both of Winston-Salem, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The family expresses appreciation to all who have shown kindnesses during this time of our loss. Many thanks and much gratitude to his caregivers; brothers Leon B. Miller and Gary Miller; and nephew, Carlton Oliver. Merlin's great spirit and infectious smile will live forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.

A public viewing will be held Wednesday August 3, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Thursday August 4, 2022, at 11:00am from Douthit's and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 10:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
