Michael Edward Carrigan was born June 22, 1968 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He attended the local Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, graduating from Glenn High School in 1986 where he played football and baseball. He joined the Navy after graduating where he was honorably discharged. He attended DeVry University in Atlanta, Georgia where he joined Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. He also was a member of the Ionic Lodge No. 72 PHA. He was
employed by the U.S. Postal Service, and Hanes Weeks Division, until unable to do so. Michael joined Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized. He later joined Phillips
Chapel Baptist Church under Rev. Ray Watlington. He had a very humble spirit and was always willing to help anyone he could; from the man or woman on the street to his family and friends. He was witty, lovable, non-confrontational and respectful to all. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Leon Carrigan, Emma Richardson Carrigan, and Lillie Bell Carrigan; his paternal grandparents, Walter and Ethel Ford and maternal grandmother, Doris Carrigan.
He is survived by his only son, Kevin (Chaira) McMoore of Pooler, Georgia, father Johnny Moses,
Sr., loving mother Jean (Teddy, Sr.) Petree, three grandchildren, Briana, Kamya, and Kevin Jr, (KJ); devoted sister April Moses of Kernersville, NC, and brother Johnny, Jr. (Tracy) Moses of Katy, TX.; aunt, Debora Carrigan; uncle, Donald (Sharon) Carrigan; bonus sisters and brother 0Maria (Ragnar) Padmore, Rev. Donna Maree, Melinda (Lawrence) Mouzzon, and Teddy, Jr. (Heather) Kevin Wade; and a host of nieces and nephews. A public viewing will be held Monday June 24, 2024 from 1 pm until 5 pm at Douthit's. Funeral service will be held Tuesday June 25, 2024, at 1pm from Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 12:30pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
