A loving father, grandfather, life partner, brother, family member and friend was born Nov. 5, 1960, to the late Martha & Earnest Hickman. He peacefully passed away Tuesday January 24th, 2023.

Born in SC and raised in NC, Mike was genuine and a jokester. Mike was passionate about cooking and old western shows. From the start, he dedicated his life to his pursuit of keeping a smile on everyone's face. He was also a great friend and caring person. He spent most of his time laughing with family and friends.

He was a graduate of West Forsyth High School and landed his first job at Forsyth Country Club. This kickstarted a love for cooking. In 1987, Mike met his devoted life partner, Tammy, of 35 years and went on to have two children.

Mike leaves cherished memories with his life partner, Tammy Jackson, and their daughter Mejii Jackson and son Jovonta Jackson, a grandson, Braylon Adams, all of Winston-Salem, two siblings, Frankie Ransom and Bryon (Cindy) Hickman of South Carolina, uncles Willie (Rosa Mae) Hickman from El Paso Tx, Roosevelt Hickman, of South Carolina devoted cousins Rhonda and Otis Blyther, the entire Jackson family and many other relatives and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother and father, Martha and Earnest Hickman, siblings Sandra and Earnest Hickman Jr., paternal and maternal grandparents, uncle Elijah Hickman, special aunt Azalee Hickman and cousins Gregory, Patricia, Mitchell, and David Hickman.

Although "Hitman" may no longer be physically here, his memories will last forever to a multitude of family and friends. A public viewing will be held Wednesday February 1, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 2, 2023, at 11:30am from Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 11:00am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
