Robert Justin Vannoy, born on December 23, 1986, in Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024. Known affectionately as Justin, he was a beloved member of his community, known for his loving, kind nature, sweet smile, and gentle spirit. Justin was passionate about his faith and attended and participated in as many services and visited as many churches as possible. He grew up at Holy Trinity FGBC(AKA The Trinity Center of WS), and as an adult attended and served as a youth minister at Victory Faith Church, where he touched the lives of many with his feisty yet funny personality.
Justin attended the Children's Center and became a spokesperson for the school and graduated from Carter Vocational High School in Winston-Salem NC. Throughout his life, Justin exceeded expectations and enjoyed various odd jobs within the community, always striving for independence while embracing the connections he made with others. He found joy in visiting friends and family, and shared a love for his favorite delicious foods, particularly cheese, McDonald's cheeseburgers, and fried shrimp.
Justin was preceded in death by his loving parents, Robert Lee and Stelline Walker Vannoy.
He is survived by his sisters, Andrea S. Hymes and Mary Vannoy, and brother D'ray Hall, along with his niece/caregiver, Nya N Hymes, nieces Chloe, Christina, and Cianni and nephews Khylo and Ayden, many aunts, cousins, extended family members and many friends that were like family to him. He also leaves behind devoted caregivers/friends who became like brothers to him, Taiwan Walker and Patrick Livingston. Sisters in love, Bertha Higgins and Sierra Foster and the cherished members of the Victory Faith Church Family.
The family would like to thank the staff of ResCare Community Alternatives of NC, medical staff at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center and anyone who was ever a part of Justin's life.
His life was guided by the motto, "I'm going to fight on!" and he will be remembered for his loving, caring spirit and the lasting impact he made on those around him. A public viewing will be held Friday November 29, 2024, from 1pm until 5pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11:00 am. from New Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 10:30 am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
