Ms. Sarah Lucy Deberry Reed affectionately known as Nookie was born November 5, 1944, to Lonnie Deberry and Daisy Flowers. On Saturday November 19, 2022, she departed this earthly life, and went to her heavenly home. She was a native of Anson Co, and later moved to Forsyth County.
After moving to Forsyth County, Ms. Reed was faithful to the Lord and spent her entire life in the church. She was a member of St Stephen Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend J.R. Samuels for many years. She was a faithful member of Galilee MBC under the leadership of Pastor Scovens for many years until her death. Throughout her years she ministered to many by her blessed voice in song. She shared her talent on the Spiritual Choir, the J R Samuels Ensemble Number 1, the Hallelujah Gospel Singers, the Family Gospel Singers, and the Galilee heritage choir. She also served as part of Mother board at Galilee.
She was employed for many years at Gravely Tractor Inc. and later retired from Tex Wipe.
Ms. Reed enjoyed being a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Aunt. She found joy in being a constant help with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Ms. Reed is preceded in death by her Father Lonnie Deberry. Mother Daisy Flowers. Two sisters Ola Mae Deberry, and Ethel Deberry. Three brothers James Deberry, Joe Deberry (Blondie), Perry Deberry. One son James Frazier.
Her survivors include one brother Lonnie Deberry (Dorothy). Two sister-in Laws Bessie Deberry and Mary Thomas. Six children Morris (Henrietta) Little, Berlinda Little, Solomon Reid, Stanley Little, Deltra Little, and Anna Reed Hooper (Jerry). Her grandchildren, Sheneaka, De'Andre, Rico, Raven, Stanley JR. Alexcia, Raquel, Jerrica, LaToya, Netanya, Shaquanna, Dequan, Desmond, Rayshawn and great grandchildren, niece and nephews. Minnie Deberry (a devoted Niece). A job well done. Funeral services will be held Friday November 25, 2022, at 1pm from Galilee Missionary Baptist Church and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 12:30pm. The remains may be viewed Friday from 10:00am until service hour at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
