Obituary

With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Carl Davis. He was born on April 22, 1951 in Bessemer, AL and departed this earthly life on August 12, 2026, at the age of 75 in Winston-Salem, NC. Carl was a proud graduate of Jackson S. Abrams High School in Bessemer, AL and was actively engaged with the Class of 1969 community. Carl’s greatest passion was his love for Jesus Christ and working in His church. As a dedicated church and staff member of St. Peter’s World Outreach Center for over 25 years, he served in many capacities. He helped to maintain the church facility and grounds and assisted with the We Care House food pantry. Family was the center of Carl’s life. He shared a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Cindy Davis, whose partnership and faith enriched their home for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Charles Edward Davis, who passed away five days earlier. Throughout his life, Carl looked after his brother with love and care, and he treasured the time they shared together.

Carl leaves to cherish his memories: mother Louise Davis; godmother Ella Wyatt; daughter Caretta Davis and son Carlton Davis; nieces Schenita Randolph and Shalanda Bell; aunt Lois Abrams, and many other cousins, extended relatives, friends, and neighbors. Carl will be remembered for his friendly and genuine nature, compassionate heart, and willingness to help others. His life was a testament to perseverance and faith, and his legacy will live on in all who knew and loved him. Although we mourn today, we find comfort in knowing that Carl has entered his new heavenly home and heard those glorious words: “Well done, good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23. He can now rest eternally in the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, free from pain and suffering. A brief visitation will start at 11:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 20 at St. Peter’s World Outreach Center, 3727 Old Lexington Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
