OBITUARY
It is with heartfelt love and remembrance that we celebrate the life of David Lee Manigault, Jr., 78 years old, born on July 19, 1947, in Charleston, South Carolina, to the late David Manigault, Sr. and Edna Manigault.
David was educated in South Carolina and later relocated to North Carolina in his early twenties. He graduated from North Carolina A&T State University and built a life marked by determination, hard work, and perseverance. David was an entrepreneur and insurance agent before retiring from Sears after 15 years of dedicated service. David was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend whose presence brought strength and wisdom to those around him.
David was preceded in death by his parents; sisters-in-law, Beetie Palmer, Ruth Sims, Scarlet Scales, Lydia Scales, and Mary Ann Manigault; and brother-in-law, Melvin Palmer Sr.
He leaves to cherish his devoted wife, Dorothy H. Manigault; David was the proud father of daughters,Brittany Hunt of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Ashley Hunt,and April (Marion) Hawkins of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and son Chad (Jorita) Manigault of Charlotte, North Carolina. Brothers, Harry Manigault and Lavern (Carolyn) Manigault, both of Charleston, South Carolina. Sisters, Mozelle Odom, Sandra (Charles) Bass, and Shalona (DJ) Edwards, all of Charleston, South Carolina. In-laws: Naomi (Jerrold) Miles, Leon (Mari) Scales, Carl Scales, all of Winston-Salem, NC,and Christine (Harvey) Webb of Snellville, GA.
Left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren: Kedric, Kelsey, Avri, Tyler, Tyson, and Tracey. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Jamir, Skylar, and Celene.
Homegoing celebration and Interment will be conducted Saturday May 23rd at Piney Grove Baptist Church 4715 Indiana Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27106. Family visitation starts at 11:30am followed by the service at 12:00pm"
David loved his family deeply and leaves behind a legacy of faith, resilience, and love that will continue for generations, and we will forever treasure his memory.
