Mr. James David
Blount
October 13, 1965 – April 29, 2026
Mr. James "David" Blount, age 60, was born on October 13, 1965, and departed his life on April 29, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents J.D. Blount and Gloria Mae Tillman Blount. He was their only child.
He received his education in the Forsyth County School System and was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, where he was baptized. In the late 1980s, David relocated from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to Atlanta, Georgia, and later to Nashville, Tennessee. While in Nashville, he became a dedicated member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Tennessee and then moved to New Mexico. He eventually Settled in Nashua, New Hampshire, where he resided for more than 30 years. There, he established himself as a self-employed professional in irrigation system installation and landscaping. He also attended Crossway Christian Church.
In the final weeks of his life, David returned to Winston-Salem to be surrounded by the love and presence of his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his devoted wife of 31 years, Mrs. Cindy Ann Blount; his beloved daughter, Dashon Ashe Hardy (James); four sons, Rayshawn Ferguson of Nashua, New Hampshire, Kierre Ashe and Jared Braboy, both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Matthew Blount of Nashua, New Hampshire; Thirteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

There will be a Public Viewing held on Friday, May 15, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Douthit Funeral Services. The Family Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 11:30 AM until 12:00 PM at Ronnie Douthit Chapel, with the Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM.
Mr. Blount’s life was a testament of grace, strength, and faith. We ask that you please keep the Blount family lifted in your thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
