Nannie Carol Mckoy AKA (Carolyn),75, was born March 24, 1950, to the late Clara Louise Ijames and Lee Roy Reed. Carolyn was raised by the late Ola Mae Ijames Petree and the late Jesse Petree, Sr. She passed from this life at Forsyth after a brief illness. Nannie was educated in the Winston Salem/Forsyth County School. Graduated from Atkins High School 1969. She served her country in the United States Army in 1972-1974. Carolyn worked at RJ Reynolds 20 or more years of service. Due to health reason, an early retirement was necessary.Carolyn McKoy was known as the baby of Macedonia Worship Center of Winston- Salem NC. As Carolyn grew up at Macedonia , she'd continued her growth in Christ. Her Foundation in Christ as a child carried her life journey for eternity. She later joined family at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, NC Rev. William Brown, Pastor. As a Faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, she continued her stewardship studying the word of God. actively singing and directing the choir. Nannie Carol McKoy met the love if her heart Lee R. McKoy, 8 years of marriage. Therefore, a new membership to Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Winston- Salem was established with her husband. She continued the love of Praising God with singing on two choirs. The mass choir and the Pray Band Choir that she loved, believe me, she was blessed with a beautiful voice. Faithful member of Sunday School and Bible Study. Carolyn Ijames McKoy mission did not stop only at Phillips Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Chad Armstrong, Senior Pastor. She with others generated Tuesday Bible Study at a nursing home. Her desire as a missionary was for everyone to except Christ as their personal savior. Nannie loves the Lord with the willingness to share and invitation to Christ. Nannie C. McKoy is survived by her sisters Mae France McManus, Phyllis E. Petree and Patricia Ijames. Devoted sister-in-law Debbie Petree. Brother-in-law Wayne Berry. Two devoted cousins Ted Petree (Jean) and Dicie Petree. Sister-in-law, Mary Spaulding (Clarance), Isabell Williams, Addie Dukes, Dorothy Pernell(William), Joyce Beaty (Jerald), Vina Lewis (LV), Brother-in-Law James McKoy (Saundra). Carolyn was blessed to have two best friends Delores Banner and Shelia Robinson. A dedicated friend as a sister for life Cynthia Norwood. Nannie C. McKoy presence will dearly and clearly be miss to cherish the legacy of love. Leaving many dear memories to her host of nieces and nephews as well as relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00pm at Phillips Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 11:00am from the church. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
