Obituary

Nell C Wilkins was born on March 30, 1931 in Wilkesboro, NC and raised by Frances Cuffee. She was called home to be with her Lord at the age of 92 on January 22, 2024 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House. Nell was preceded in death by her husband William Wilkins; son, William Ross Wilkins Jr., and 2 sisters Mattie Cuffee Fletcher and Betty Jones Dulin.

Sister Nell Wilkins was a faithful born-again believer who loved the Lord and served at Rising Ebenezer Baptist Church in the Matilda McKinney Missionary Circle and on the Kitchen Committee as long as her health allowed. She served as a volunteer at the Cancer Center for many years in whatever capacity needed and received recognition and several awards while volunteering. She was well loved in the community and her apartment was open to all with so much love and patience. When church members came and gave communion or just to say hello they always left filled with joy. When friends came they stayed for hours for her home felt like your home. Nell Wilkins retired from Greyhound Bus Company after working many years in almost every position except driving the bus. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and true friend to everyone that came into her life. She will truly be missed because the love of God shined throughout her kindness in action.
