Mrs. Patricia Samuels was a native of Winston-Salem, NC, her entire life, departed this life on November 6, 2019. Patricia was born July 4, 1950 to the late Robert and Corrie Reader Jackson. She attended Asheville Senior High School. She retired from Wake Forest University after 25 years of loyal and dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Arlene Stewart and her loving husband, Hubert Samuels aka "Cooter!" She leaves to cherish her loving memory, three sons, Aaron Jackson, Gerald Jackson and Benjamin (Johnetta) Stewart; 14 grandchildren; four brothers, Bishop Bobby (Carrie) Reader, Arthur (Wanda) Reader, Terry (Denise) Jackson, Donald (Janet) Jackson; one sister, Gloria Jackson; a special uncle, John W. (Jackie) Reader; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; a special and close friend, Rochelle (Harold) Kinnard. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with family visitation beginning at 12:30pm. Interment will take place at 11am on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Salisbury National Cemetery. Mrs. Samuels may be viewed Tuesday, November 12, 2019 from 2pm-6pm at Douthit's.
