Pauline Rucker transitioned from this earth to her heavenly home on July 4, 2023, to be with the Lord.
Pauline was born on September 27, 1935, to her loving parents of the late William McDaniel Sr. and Lois Warren McDaniel in Lynchburg, Virginia. She was the oldest of five siblings. She was a devoted wife of the late Rev. Carlton Rucker Sr. Mrs. Rucker was of Baptist faith having served as a dedicated church member and deaconess of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. She retired from Reynolds Cafeteria after more than fifteen years of service.
She is survived by her devoted children: Carlton Rucker Jr (Helen) of Havre de Grace, Maryland; Leo Rucker (Angela) of Winston Salem, NC; Paulette Rucker of Winston Salem, NC; Gilbert Rucker (Andrea) of Houston Texas; Lois Samuels (Sterling) of Winston Salem, NC, and Sophia Morris and Yolanda Rucker (closest family members)
She is survived by three sisters Naomi Johnson of Lynchburg, VA; Rowena McDaniel of Lynchburg, VA; Sharon Jones (Ben) of Lynchburg, VA; and William McDaniel Jr – her brother (deceased).
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A public viewing will be held Friday July 7, 2023 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral Service at 4 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church 1212 N. Dunleith Ave., WS, NC 27101. The family will receive friends at 3:30pm
