Mrs. Ramona Tyler Jones, known to her family and friends as "Mona," gained her wings in the early evening on Saturday, January 6, 2024. She was born to the late William Tyler and Josephine Scruggs Tyler on Thursday, March 27, 1947.
Mona was a devoted and loving mother and wife. She lived a life of simplicity. In her leisure time, she loved to watch football. She attended Winston-Salem State University, majoring in Nursing. She was a former employee of Northwest Child Development in Winston-Salem, NC.
Mona leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 54 years, James (Jippy) Jones; two loving and caring sons, James Jones, II of Winston-Salem, NC and Jonathan Jones of Greenville, SC; one brother, William Tyler (Karen); one niece, Ashley Tyler of Douglasville, Georgia; three sisters-in-law, Ernestine J. Simington, Mildred J. Price, and Gwen J. Brown; and two brothers-in-law, Charlie Jones (Gladys), and Melvin Jones (Sharon) all of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and host of loving and devoted great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Douthit Funeral Services. The Family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. A public viewing will be held Friday, January 12, 2024, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. at Douthit's. Funeral Services...
