Reginald Benard Belton, affectionately known as "Reg," was born to the late Allen Sr. and Eva Willis Belton on Thursday, March 2, 1944. He peacefully transitioned to his eternal home in the early hours on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, after a lengthy illness.
Reginald attended the public schools of Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and received his GED from Forsyth Technical Community College. He was a former member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, where he was baptized by the late Rev. Dr. Joseph Samuels. He was a retiree of R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with thirty-one years of service. Until his health declined, he enjoyed landscaping, working on his cars, building and completing projects around his home. Reg was a humble person with a big smile and was well loved by many.
In addition to his parents, Reg was preceded in death by his siblings; Lillie Mae King, Thelma Belton, Schirley Causley, Isaiah Willis, Allen Jr., Howard and Willie Belton.
Reg memories will be cherished by the love of his life for 42years, Gwen Jones Brown; her son's family, Donald (Shannon), Da'Sean, and Sha 'Dona of Winston-Salem, NC. His extended family consisting of; Ernestine J. Simington, Mildred J. Price, Charlie (Gladys) Jones, James (Ramona) Jones and Melvin (Sharon) Jones, all of Winston-Salem, NC; a devoted and loving sister, Joann B. (Glen) Johnson of Atlantic City, NJ, and a sister, Frances B. Dean of Los Angeles, CA; two loving nieces, Monique Causley (Anthony Lyles) of Camden, NJ and Tamarra (Keith) Robinson of Ewing, NJ; and a host of very dear friends and relatives. Special thanks, with love, to his devoted caregiver, Shawnta White. A public viewing will be held Monday , June 26, 2023 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 27, 2023 at 12pm fromDouthit Funeral Services. The family will receive friends at 11:30am. Arrangements are in the car of Douthit Funeral Services.
