Robert Lee Jacobs was born to the late Robert Lee Cooper and Estelle Jacobs Frazier in Winston Salem, NC on July 25, 1948. He graduated from Paisley High School, where he played on the Panthers' football team as a defensive lineman, and later attended Winsalm Business College.
Prior to attending Winsalm he served as a Marine and received a Purple Heart for his sacrifices to his country in Vietnam. Following his service, Robert worked at both R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and AMP/Tyco Electronics, Inc.
Robert was ordained as a Minister at Mount Sinai GCOG. Many knew him for his beautiful singing voice and musical talent. Through his voice, Robert faithfully served both God and his congregation, leaving a lasting impression on all who heard him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald and Ronald Frazier; and sisters Elaine Jacobs, Wanda Jacobs, and Mary "Jacobs" Cherry.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Saundra Jacobs; children Cynthia Jacobs and Melinda Jacobs; Reginald Martin of the home; grandchildren Jenae Hoffman and Samone Jacobs; sisters Dathine Jacobs, Donita (Jack) Ajakaiye, Felicia Jones, Crystal (Johnnie) Riddick, and Cassandra Morgan; brothers Fredrick Frazier, Gregory (Loretta) Frazier, Norman (Veronica) Graham, Keith Jones, and Terry Frazier; siblings-in-law Lorenza (Lily) Martin and Patricia Martin; devoted family friend Rosalee Evans; 1 great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Robert Jacobs was a husband, father, brother, and "Papaw." He loved sports, Westerns, and Gospel. He will be greatly missed and well-remembered by all who knew him. A public viewing will be held Sunday June 22, 2025 from 1pm until 4pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Monday June 23, 2025 at 11:30 am from Mt. Calvary Holy Church, 1615 East 22nd Street and interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 11:00 amArrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
