Ronald Everett Shields, age 68, of Winston-Salem, NC, went home to be with our Father God on, Tuesday morning, May 21,

2024. Born on July 19, 1955 to Arthur and Helen Heath Shields, Ronald was the third of 5 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest brother Dennis James (Chiquita) Shields, and youngest brother, Mark Stevens Shields.

Ronald is survived by his only sister, Loretta Elaine, his younger brother, Robert Earl (Bernice), a loving and special nephew, Michael Keith, a devoted sister-in law, Chiquita (Tweet), and a host of loving Cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Ronald attended and graduated from school through the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. He worked briefly for a Medical Lab Company. Ronald was well liked by many, and was nicknamed (Huggy Bear, which was later shortened to Huggy).

He loved music and was very devoted to his family who will love him and will miss him but know that God is in control.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Katie B. Reynolds Hospice Home in W-S, NC. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
