Roosevelt Columbus Givens, 72, was born July 5th, 1950, in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Lucille White & Roosevelt Columbus Givens Sr. He transitioned to his heavenly home peacefully with his wife by his side on December 18th, 2022.

Roosevelt was a man of great faith, a dedicated member of Greater Church of Winston-Salem, NC, where Bishop Sheldon McCarter presides. He was an awesome husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to all. Roosevelt was an avid golfer and big Carolina Panther fan till the end. Roosevelt graduated from the WSFCS. He was a proud & faithful Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps "Semper Fi".

He was preceded in the death by his mother Lucille White, father Roosevelt Givens Sr., maternal grandmother Ethel White & mother-in-law Esther Jenkins.

He is survived by his loving & devoted wife who was by his side Estella Givens, sons Jacques Jenkins, Komar Jenkins, brother Albert L. Givens, sister-in-law Cathey Stocks; Aunt Christine Lockhart-Jones; grandchildren Destiny Tucker, Aya Perez & Jacques Jenkins Jr.; nieces Katrina Summers, Donna (Calvin) Gantt Jr, Antionette Givens, Angela (Thomas) Chisholm Jr, Jamee' Givens & Terra & Tiffany Stocks and a host of great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank you to the staff at Wake Forest Atrium Cancer Center, Dr. Rush, Nurse Sandy Wiles & Brenda Anderson and the staff at Trellis Supportive Care Hospice of Winston-Salem, NC. A public viewing will be held Thursday December 23, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Friday December 23, 2022, at 11:00am from Greater Church, the family will receive friends at 10:30am and interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery at 10:00am on Tuesday December 27, 2022.
