It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose Marie Shore Anthony on December 18, 2023 at the age of 87.
Rose was born on October 1, 1936, to her late parents Hawathia Benson and Celia Shore Kimbrough. She will be forever remembered by her children Andre' Anthony, Willa Hines, Roslyn Anthony, Barbara (Joey) Moore, DelRay (Sharon) Anthony, Cecil (Deborah) Anthony, and Turner (Donice) Anthony.
She is predeceased by her husband Harold Bobby Ray Anthony and her son Carroll Anthony.
Rose attended Atkins High School and was a graduate of the class of 1954. As a native of Winston-Salem, she opted to remain in the community to raise her family and to contribute to the community that she knew and loved. Rose worked at Experiment in Self Reliance which is a non-profit organization whose mission is to eliminate poverty and homelessness by helping people to help themselves. Her career choice aligns with who she was and the love that she gave to others.
Those that encountered Rose (Cute Ann) had an experience, whether it was playing cards or crocheting which were both her favorite pastime or basking in her love that she gave so freely. This loss leaves a void in the lives of those that knew her. She leaves to mourn her children, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, extended family (Smith and Dobson Families), and friends that she made feel like family.
