Ruben Gould Jr affectionately known as Ruben Jr. or Junior went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 11, 2025. He was a kind and loving man that loved and cherished his family deeply. Ruben was born in Richmond County, NC on Jack Curry Plantation on September 7, 1955 to the late Jessie Mae Flake and Ruben Gould Sr. Ruben Jr. graduated from Philip Schuyler High School of Albany, NY where he made lifelong friends. After graduating high school, Ruben Jr. began working with his Dad Ruben Sr. as an autobody mechanic. Ruben Jr. loved going fishing and playing music with his band, he was an amazing drummer. He was also a great baseball player. He played baseball with the Lawson's Baseball Team where he was known for his lightning speed. His talents were cherished by all who knew and loved him. Ruben's laughter and humor was infectious. He was the pillar of strength and love for his family. He was a steadfast friend to many. He was a man of deep faith, finding comfort and guidance in his relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC under the leadership of Rev. Dr. SD Patterson. Ruben Jr. was preceded in death by his Mother Jessie Mae Flake and Brothers Woodrow Gould and Lee Anthony Gould. Ruben leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. Though there are too many to name individually, each one held a special place in his heart and life. His memory will live on in the stories, songs laughter and love he shared with all that knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 25, 2025, at 3:30pm from Douthit's. The family will receive friends at 3pm. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Service.
