Ms. Sylvia Ann Martin, affectionately known as Sylvanne, Sabin, Sal, Mama, and Ms. Duck was born to Ms. Bonnie Martin and Mr. Junior Norris in Wrightsville, GA on July 11, 1964. She departed this life on Friday, October 07, 2023, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her brothers Mr. Leon Martin and Mr. Robert E. Folsom. A resident of Winston-Salem, NC, Sylvia graduated from Parkland High School in 1982. She was employed at Screen Scene Printing Company before retiring early. She absolutely loved to print and make designs. Sylvia re-dedicated her life to the Lord and became a faithful member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. Sylvia leaves to cherish beautiful memories of her two children, Tyrian Martin (son) and Clarissa Walker (daughter). Six grandchildren, Tyrian Martin Jr., Destiny Johnson, Leon T. Martin, Cierra Martin, Al Blyther, and Jovon Martin. One great-grandchild, Ty' Quon Martin. Two brothers Timothy Graddy and Christopher Norris. She had a longtime, special friend Charles "Michael" McLaughlin.
She also leaves to cherish very close cousins Shelia "Boochie" Greory and Steven "Pooh" Sims and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A special thanks to the Forsyth Medical Center team of doctors and nurses that greatly cared for her. A public viewing will be held Friday October 13, 2023 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 14, 2023 at 2pm from St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 1:30pm . Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
