Ms. Taronya Kametrice Covington affectionately known as Weedy, daughter of Miguel Gaither and Sheila Covington was born November 12, 1975, and departed this earthly life on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

She was a graduate of North Forsyth High School and South University where she was a member of the Honor Society. She worked for National General Insurance Company in Winston Salem, NC. Taronya was a proud member of Mt Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro NC.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr Densie and Mrs Claudette Gaither and Mr Clyde and Mrs Elmeta Covington Sr. She was also proceeded in death by uncles Reginald Covington, Keith Covington, Donald Caldwell and Arturo Gaither.

Left to cherish her fond and precious memories are her parents; sisters Dayia Covington, Annette and Temeka Gaither; uncles, Wayne Covington, Clyde Covington Jr and Vernon Gaither (Ruby) all of Winston Salem, NC; aunts, Beverly King Adriola Reed (Walter), Sheila Gaither of Winston Salem, NC, Arlene Gaither of Lake Wales, Florida and Odelia (Dee Dee) Gaither Neugin (favorite uncle James) of Minneola, Florida; 2 nephews, 3 nieces and 2 great nieces; devoted cousin Melanie King of Winston Salem, NC, and a host of loving cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Her extended family: Tambra Williams of Winston Salem, NC and Antione Martin of Charlotte, NC, special friend Tedrick Poinsette of Kingstree, SC, and numerous friends and connection made in person and over various social media platforms. A public viewing will be held Thursday January 5, 2023, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Friday January 6, 2023, at 11:30am from Douthit's and interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 11:00am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
