Terrance Maurice Wellman left us for his heavenly home on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the age of 70.

Terrance, known by his loved ones as "Ty (Tee-y)" was born on December 15, 1951, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Purnell Webb of Winston-Salem, NC, and Della Gray of Macon, Georgia. Ty attended Central High School and in his young adult life, he spent his spare time as a bodybuilder, studying martial arts, and was an excellent cook! Ty lived a quiet life with his wife of 28 years; Esther Wellman, whom he loved so much! He was always a loving, bright, and giving person with a personality that would light up a room! He enjoyed having a good time dancing and watching his grandchildren play at family functions, watching his favorite television shows Days of Our Lives, and the A-Team, as well as cheering on his favorite football team the Las Vegas (formally Oakland) Raiders.

Ty is survived by his Wife, Esther Wellman, and his siblings Constance Miller, and Timothy Wellman. He is also survived by his children Deania (William) Wilhite, Melinda Smith, Jesse (Yolanda) Smith Jr., and Patrick Smith Sr. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyrone Brannon, Justin (Amber) Smith, Shanae Edwards, Shawn Shephard, Delena Smith, Jamal Smith, Maurice Bennett, Tierra Hopkins, Joshua Hopkins, Paris Hopkins, Phillip Smith, Lauren Smith, and Patrick Smith Jr., his great-grandchildren Melondy Farrow, Aiden Shephard, Selena Brannon, Simeon Brannon, Silas Brannon, Katara Willis, Avery Shepard, Jasmine Bennett, Kingston Hopkins, and Journey Smith, as well as his niece Glynis Dobson and nephews Maurice Wellman and Gary Liles.

He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings Jean Hart and Marcellus Liles . Memeorial services will be held Saturday September 17, 2022, at 3:30pm from Mercy Seat Holy Church. There will be no public viewing. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
