Thomas M. Foggie, ("Tom") age 96, was born in Laurens, South Carolina on November, 11, 1928 to the late Willie and Feva Mae Foggie. He departed this life Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at the Woltz Hospice Home.
He was educated in Laurens, South Carolina. He was a meticulous dresser and loved his music and dancing. Thomas was employed at R. J. Reynolds for 30 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 220. He served on the Scholarship Committee at Union Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Verte A. Foggie of 65 Years, a Sister Ella Mae Foggie, a brother Johnny McWilliams and son Oscar Strange. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter Dr. Joyce (John) Myers, St. Louis, MO, two sons Thomas (Denise) Foggie, Jr Charlotte, NC and Brevard (Sheila) Foggie Brampton, Ontario. Eight grandchildren Dr. Khaleah (Maurice) Schilder, Rashad (Leah) Myers, Krystal (Freddie) Gardner, Karen Foggie, LaShonda Williams, Brevard Foggie, Jr, Oscar, (Neicey) Strange Jr and Tonya Huey; Eleven great grandchildren. 3 nieces Barbara (Algefield) Cain, Hilda Hodge and Marlene (Johnny) Henderson. 2 nephews Richard Dillard and Franklin Brown and a host of cousins and friends. A public viewing will be held Wednesday May 14, 2025, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Thursday May 15, 2025, at 12pm from Union Baptist Church and interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 11:30am. Special devoted friends Donald Brown, Ted Duckett and Louise Brown. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
