On Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Trellis Hospice Care, Vanwood Banner departed this world into the arms of Jesus. Vanwood Jr. was born to the late Vanwood W. Banner Sr. and Ruth Carson Banner. He was employed by Forsyth Industrial System for over twenty years, followed by Crothall Services, until his health declined. He was a thrill seeker and God-fearing man who was loved by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Reginald Banner. He leaves to cherish his loving memories: His wife, Vanessa Sprinkle-Banner of Tobaccoville, NC; one son, Brian Henderson (Eboni) of Rochester, NY; two devoted Step Children: Anthony Martin and Lisa Jefferson of Tobaccoville, NC; one brother, Purcell Banner of Milpitas, CA, two sisters Lauretta Banner Webb and Rosalind Banner-Howard (Gregory) both of Winston-Salem, NC; four grandsons, and one great-grandson He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of relatives and friends. A public viewing will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. A private funeral service will be held Friday, April 30, 2021.
