Veronica Velvette Williams of Winston Salem North Carolina, affectionately known as 'Val and Veil, quietly departed this earthly life on February 26, 2022, at the age of 56 after a long battle with cancer, in which she won, and went home to be with the Lord.
She was raised in East Bend North Carolina where she graduated from Forbush High School. Veronica had the most beautiful and infectious smile with a sweet spirit that would brighten any day. She always had a praise in her heart and her love for God and others was shown through her actions. She always had a kind and encouraging word. She loved to spend time with her family and being in the kitchen making delicious treats such as her famous Banana Pudding. As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many.
Veronica was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Louis Williams Sr, her mother, Anna Gray Williams, and her brother Edgar Louis Williams Jr. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted Fiancé Edward Johnson. Children loved as her own: Kayla Martin, Laporsha Rolle (Michael), Shemekia Williams, and Shun Sykes (Chanel), six grandchildren: Amyra Johnson, Brandon Sykes, Nathan Sykes, Jeremy Sykes, Montea Williams, and Monquail Mosley. Two brothers: Jeremiah Gray (Linda), Thomas Williams Sr (Deborah) and eight sisters: Faye Greene, Kathy Warfield, Debra Scott, Sophia Scott, Sonya Williams, Martha Walls (Lorne), Teresa Earl (Renarde), and Lisa Howard (Kirby). She also leaves uncles Kie Gray Sr and Theodore Walker Sr., Aunt Lucille Smith, Uncle Edward Gwyn, Mother- in-Love Mildred Benson and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday March 4, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday March 05, 2022, at Douthit Funeral Home located at 515 Specialty Park Drive Winston Salem, NC 27105 at 12:00 pm. The family will receive friends at 11:30am.
