Wilburt Reginald Burl, Jr. (Reggie), a dedicated and respected individual, born in Winston-Salem, NC to Rudine Burl (Medearis) and Wilburt Burl Sr, has peacefully passed away. À proud graduate of East Forsyth High School, Reggie embarked on a remarkable journey, leaving an indelible
mark in the lives of many
Reggie's adolescent achievements included Road Runners Track Club, W-S Tiny Indians Football, JROTC, Cross County and Marching Band at Carver High School. Post graduation, Reggie served his country with honor and distinction in the US Navy, retiring as an Information's.
Systems Technician Chief. Chief Burl served a successful 21 years in the United States Navy. His career has taken him around the world providing countless hours of leadership and mentorship to his Sailors. Those Sailors are what you see
today defending our country and other countries around the world. Chief Burl's accolades are the Navy/Marine CORPS Achievement Medal x3, Meritorious Unit Commendation x2, Good Conduct Medal x 6, National Defense Service Medal ×2, Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon x4, Navy/Marine CORPS Overseas Service Ribbon x11, Letter of Commendation ×3, and the Enlisted Surface Warfare
InsigniaReggie is preceded by grandparents Estelle Malone Porter, Fred and Crussie Burl, Father Wilburt Burl Sr, and mother-in-law Elizabeth Gofigan Topasna. He leaves behind a cherished legacy and is survived by his beloved wife, Susie, and his loving children: Terrance Burl, Michael Burl (grandson Christopher James Montgomery), and Cecilia Lopez (Burl; grandson Benjamin Lopez). He is also remembered by his fathers-in-law Garland Medearis, Jose Topasna and stepchildren: Levi & Daurese Santos (Leeland, Leon, Liam, Levi Santos), Jose & Tanisha Takai (Nehaeh and Aylisa Takai), Sky & Desirae Topasna (Styles Topasna).

Reginald Burl will forever be missed and fondly remembered by his brothers Roderick Chalmers (children: Kierre Beal, Justin Chalmers, Jada Chalmers), Timothy Chalmers (wife: Martha Chalmers; children:

Meshawn Chalmers, Cherelle Chalmers, Timothy Chalmers, Jr.), and sister Sabrina Burl Wingo (children: Jeremy Burl (wife: Amikka Burl), and Cedrin Wingo jr.). In addition to a host of other family members and friends. A public viewing will be held Friday January 12, 2024, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 13, 2024, at 11:00am.m. from Union Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
