Willie Sims Jr. Made his Heavenly transition on Friday February 23, 2024. Willie was born in Winston Salem, where he attended Kimberly Park Elementary and J W Paisley High school, where he was a star 3- sport athlete, in Football, Basketball, and Baseball. He served 26 years in the U S Marine Corps, active and reserves. He was employed at RJ Reynolds for many years. Willie leaves a loving wife Barbara Sims, children, Willie Denard and Willette. He also leaves, several stepchildren, notably Precious, Terry and Nick. He was a father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He was preceded by 2 brothers and a sister. Still remaining are two sisters, Emma Eaton, Mary Joe Graham, one brother Isaac (Ike)Sims (Angela). Of special mention, Willie was an avid cat lover, so also left is Kiwi. There will be no public viewing. There will be a Memorial ceremony on Thursday February 29, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Douthit's. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
