Willie Herbert Marshall was born May 29th, 1964 to the late Eva Jane Harper and Willie B. Marshall, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He departed this life peacefully within his home in Fayetteville, North Carolina on April 21, 2022.
Mr. Marshall was raised and attended school in Forsyth County, North Carolina. At the age of 26, he enlisted into the US Army where he served honorably and was deployed multiple times overseas. He received numerous awards and honors for his service to his country. After 21 years 6 months and 8 days, he retired with an honorable discharge. His retirement consisted of fishing, smoking his cigars, watching sports & old western movies, his dogs Gunnar & Tyson, and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents Eva Jane Harper and Willie B. Marshall, and has been joined by his sister Frances Mae Marshall.
Left to cherish his memories are his two children, Mary M. Marshall and William C. Marshall of Fayetteville, North Carolina, his sister Sandra Marshall, his brother Willie T. Marshall, nephew Greg McCall (Monica) all of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A public viewing will be held Friday April 29, 2022, from 1pm until 5pm at Douthit's. Funeral services will be held Saturday April 30, 3033 at 11:00am from Great Commission Community Church. The family will receive friends at 10:30am. Arrangements are in the care of Douthit Funeral Services.
